Doyoung Releases Collaboration ‘Luminous’ with Kim Yoon-ah…“A Song About Dreams”

Doyoung of the group NCT has released a new song titled ‘Luminous’ in collaboration with Kim Yoon-ah of the band Jaurim.

On May 31, NCT’s official YouTube channel unveiled the behind-the-scenes recording video titled ‘Soar Diary - page. 2’, which featured the making of the song ‘Luminous’ from Doyoung’s second album ‘Soar’ along with interviews with Doyoung and Kim Yoon-ah.

‘Luminous’ is a ballad that expresses emotional depth through delicate piano and grand string arrangements. Kim Yoon-ah wrote, composed, and arranged the track, adding her unique sensibility. The lyrics reflect a yearning for freedom mixed with inner contradictions, and Doyoung’s calm vocal delivery adds to the song’s poignant atmosphere.

Regarding the song, Kim Yoon-ah said, “It’s a song born from thinking about what dreams mean for us living in the present.” She added, “When I sent the demo to Doyoung, he said he could understand and relate to it, and he really liked it. I hope listeners will imagine Doyoung’s dreams and feelings while listening.”

The track ‘Luminous’ is included in Doyoung’s second album ‘Soar’, which will be released on June 9. The album consists of 10 tracks including the title song ‘Memory’, and aims to convey the power of music to inspire dreams.

Meanwhile, Doyoung is scheduled to appear at the Seoul Jazz Festival 2025 held on June 1 at Seoul Olympic Park.
