IU Tops Charts with Long-Awaited Remake Album ‘A flower bookmark, Pt. 3’

Singer IU has once again showcased her artistry through her third remake album, ‘A flower bookmark, Pt. 3’, captivating fans with emotional reinterpretations of classic songs.

Released at 6 PM on the 27th, the album quickly rose to the top of major music charts such as Melon, Bugs, and Genie. Every track entered the charts, with the title track “Never Ending Story” claiming the No. 1 spot on multiple platforms.

‘A flower bookmark, Pt. 3’ marks IU’s third remake album, arriving eight years after the release of ‘A flower bookmark, Pt. 2’ in 2017. It also serves as her first new album in about 13 months since the mini album ‘The Winning’ in February 2024.

The title track “Never Ending Story,” originally by legendary rock band Boohwal, has been reimagined with IU’s delicate and lyrical voice. Renowned composer Seo Dong-hwan arranged the song, adding intricate layers to the sound. The album also includes tracks such as “Red Shoes,” “October 4th,” “Last Scene (Feat. Wonstein),” “Beauty (Feat. Balming Tiger),” and “Dream of Square.”

The music video for “Never Ending Story,” featuring IU herself and rising actor Heo Nam-jun, has also sparked attention. Inspired by the film “Christmas in August,” the video surpassed 1 million views within 7 hours of release and ranked high on YouTube’s trending music list. It was directed by Lee Rae-kyung, who previously worked on IU’s “Palette” and “Through the Night.”
