Park Jinyoung Takes on First Villain Role as Cult Leader Obsessed with Immortality in 'Hi-FIVE'
Actor Park Jinyoung is taking on his first villain role in the upcoming film 'Hi-FIVE'.
'Hi-FIVE', directed by Kang Hyoung-chul, is a comic action film about five individuals who gain unique superpowers through organ transplants and face those who seek to steal their abilities. Park Jinyoung plays Yeongchun, a cult leader who gains the power to absorb youth after a pancreas transplant, marking a dramatic transformation.
Having started his acting career with 'Dream High 2', Park Jinyoung has showcased his acting skills through works like 'Yumi's Cells Season 2' and the film 'Christmas Carol', earning recognition as a rising actor. He recently received praise for his role in the drama 'The Witch', further expanding his acting range.
In 'Hi-FIVE', Yeongchun relentlessly pursues eternal life, seeking out other organ transplant recipients to take their powers. To portray this villainous character, Park Jinyoung meticulously designed his speech and gestures and underwent physical training for action scenes.
Park Jinyoung shared, “The script was so interesting that I had no reason to turn it down. I loved that it allowed me to showcase diverse acting.” Director Kang Hyoung-chul commented, “Park Jinyoung is an incredibly hard-working actor. He prepared diligently to make Yeongchun his own and delivered an outstanding performance.”
