Film ‘Big Deal’ Releases Behind-the-Scenes Footage, Raising Anticipation for Yoo Hae-jin and Lee Je-hoon’s Chemistry
The behind-the-scenes footage of the film ‘Big Deal’ has been released, heightening expectations for the upcoming movie.
‘Big Deal’ depicts the story of Jung-rok, the CFO of a soju company, and In-beom, an employee of a global investment firm, who face off over the future of Korea’s soju industry during the 1997 IMF financial crisis. The newly released footage showcases the efforts of actors and production staff in perfecting the characters and storyline.
Yoo Hae-jin, who plays Jung-rok, introduced the film as "a story about the clash between those who have made soju with pride and those who only see its monetary value, full of twists and turns." He also expressed confidence in his on-screen chemistry with Lee Je-hoon, who plays In-beom.
Son Hyun-joo, portraying Chairman Seok of Gukbo Group, remarked that he had no intention of softening his villainous character, raising anticipation for his powerful performance. Choi Young-jun, making his big-screen debut as lawyer Koo Young-mo, received praise from co-stars Yoo Hae-jin and Lee Je-hoon for his precise and restrained acting.
Attention is also drawn to the production team's meticulous efforts to enhance the film’s realism. The 'Top Soju' featured in the movie was created in collaboration with Bohae Brewery, and lighting and set arrangements were carefully designed to create distinct atmospheres for each drinking scene. Cinematographer Kim Sung-an explained, "Observing how characters drink based on their emotions will be an interesting point."
Yoo Hae-jin added, "It would be fun to discuss with audiences whether living like Jung-rok or In-beom is the right way," emphasizing the film's theme of conflicting values. The footage also includes the actors’ personal tips for relieving hangovers.
‘Big Deal’ will be released in theaters across Korea on the 30th. <저작권자 ⓒ 코인리더스 무단전재 및 재배포 금지>
