Singer Kim Jaejoong has publicly disclosed that he was a victim of a financial hacking incident.

On May 7, through the fan platform From, Kim stated, "My KakaoPay account was hacked." He explained that a hacker arbitrarily changed his account password, leaving him unable to respond as he did not know the new password.

Despite several attempts to resolve the issue through customer support, the process proved difficult. Kim said, "I was transferred from the customer center to the securities consultation center, and then again to the security and incident center," adding, "After an hour-long call, I couldn’t resolve the issue and had to hang up due to work."

Expressing frustration, he remarked, "The hacker changed the password, so why do I have to know it?" When he was eventually redirected back to the first department he contacted, he admitted his "mental state collapsed," pointing out, "I understand the consultants are working hard, but this system is severely flawed."

Kim ultimately closed and deleted his hacked account, bringing the incident to an end. Fortunately, no financial damage was reported. He described the experience as "a truly frightening day."

Debuting in 2004 with the group TVXQ (Dong Bang Shin Ki), Kim previously revealed that he had used a black card for 12 years, a privilege reserved for the top 0.05% of VIP clients. Recently, rumors about his supposed "1 trillion won fortune" surfaced, but he firmly denied them, stating they were not true.
