BTS's RM and Jimin Nominated for Favorite K-Pop Artist at the American Music Awards

BTS members RM and Jimin have both been nominated in the "Favorite K-Pop Artist" category at the American Music Awards, marking their first solo nominations at the event.

According to the official website of the American Music Awards on the 23rd (local time), RM and Jimin were listed as nominees for their solo work. This is the first time either artist has been nominated as a solo act.

In 2022, BTS became the inaugural winner of the "Favorite K-Pop Artist" category and also won "Favorite Pop Duo or Group," claiming two awards that year. BTS first made history at the American Music Awards in 2017 by becoming the first Korean artist to perform at the ceremony, and they have since continued to win awards in various categories.

The American Music Awards is one of the three major music award shows in the United States, alongside the Billboard Music Awards and Grammy Awards. This year's event will take place on May 26 at 5 p.m. (local time) in Los Angeles.
