South Korea’s First Music Festival Expo to Be Held in Yeosu, Opening July 26
South Korea’s first and largest music festival expo, the 1st MEGA ISLAND Music Festival, will take place from July 26 to August 2 in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do.
This large-scale cultural event will be held at the Sky Tower coastal area of the Yeosu Expo site, marking the first time in 13 years that a major event will be hosted there since the 2012 Yeosu World Expo. It is expected to reignite the cultural energy of Yeosu during the summer season.
The MEGA ISLAND Music Festival will be held in the format of a “music festival expo,” with participation from renowned music festival brands from both Korea and abroad. The festival will feature a fusion of K-content including K-pop, K-trot, K-jazz, K-band, and K-food. More than 20 performing teams will take the stage each day, with over 100 artist groups in total offering a diverse blend of music and cultural content to audiences.
More than just a music performance, the festival is expected to positively impact the local economy and boost tourism in the Yeosu region, which has faced recent economic challenges.
The organizing committee stated, “We are preparing various strategies to ensure the festival contributes to Yeosu’s economy and tourism industry. We aim to expand cooperation with major domestic and international music festival brands to develop this into a global cultural event.”
Details such as the artist lineup, ticketing information, and full schedule will be announced later via the festival’s official website and social media channels. <저작권자 ⓒ 코인리더스 무단전재 및 재배포 금지>
