Chuu: “The Performance Feels Like a Play… ‘Only Cry in the Rain’ Changes with Emotion”
Singer Chuu has returned with her third mini-album 'Only Cry in the Rain'.
At a listening event held on April 21 in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, Chuu shared her thoughts on the new album and explained the unique characteristics of the title track's performance. 'Only Cry in the Rain' is her first release in about 10 months since her second mini-album Strawberry Rush in June of last year.
This album tells the story of confronting invisible things like memories and emotions while moving forward. It captures the process of revisiting forgotten feelings and realizing that they are an essential part of who she is today. With its lyrical atmosphere, the album showcases Chuu’s artistic growth.
The album includes five tracks: the title song 'Only Cry in the Rain', 'Back in Town', 'Kiss a Kitty', 'Je t’aime', and 'No More'. Through diverse genre attempts and her signature emotional vocals, Chuu continues to demonstrate her strength as a solo artist.
Regarding the title track's performance, Chuu said, “It doesn’t always feel sad. The way I interpret it changes depending on my emotions at the time.” She added, “The performance isn’t just calm and still. It’s been crafted to feel more like watching a play or a musical, with various expressions.”
She also shared, “I perform with eight dancers who represent different versions of myself. There are many points throughout the stage that are worth watching.”
Chuu’s third mini-album 'Only Cry in the Rain' will be released on various music platforms at 6 PM on the same day. <저작권자 ⓒ 코인리더스 무단전재 및 재배포 금지>
