Model Irene is taking a hard line against deepfakes after confirming they were created and distributed.

Irene's agency, Person Entertainment, said on its official Instagram account on Thursday, "Recently, there have been cases of illegal production and distribution of deep-fake productions targeting our artist, Irene," adding, "We would like to strictly respond to this."

"We will continue to monitor and collect relevant data," the company said, adding, "If you find any related cases, please report them. We will continue to take a strong stance against any related illegal activities."

Recently, the entertainment industry has been faced with a series of cases of illegal deepfake pornography being produced and distributed without the consent of the parties involved. In addition to Irene, the groups TWICE and BLACKPINK, singer Kwon Eun-B, and actress Park Kyu-Young have also decided to take legal action against deepfake productions."

The company said that it will continue to investigate the cases.
