Teddy Girl Group Miyao Releases Debut Single Online Showcase

Rookie girl group Miyao (Suin, Gawon, Anna, Narin, and Ella) held an online showcase on Saturday afternoon to celebrate the release of their debut single album "MEOW," signaling the start of their full-fledged activities.

The girl group Miyao, produced by The Black Label head Teddy, announced their debut through the showcase and revealed the meaning of their name.

"Our team will showcase cool, powerful music and intense colors," said member Anna of the group, adding, "We chose the name 'Miyao' to show that we have two sides to us, on the one hand we are chic, but sometimes we have a cute and tender side."

Ella explains that Miyao's name is spelled 'MEOVV' instead of 'MEOW', saying, "I made the 'W' into a 'VV' for visual interest," adding, "Once I did that, I liked it better because I felt like the letters represented each of our members. I loved the team name from the first time I heard it."

Suin said through the showcase, "Now that we have realized our dream of debut, we are only thinking about the stage. I want to communicate with the audience through performances and listen to their songs, and I want to meet people from many countries through world tours. I want to perform in places where I can receive energy, such as college festivals."

Suin shared her debut impressions.

Anna wants to be the team that comes to mind when you think of Miyao, and we want to show our diverse side to make sure that our footsteps are clear. We want to be able to say, "That's Miyao.""

Miyao will be releasing their debut title single "Miyao" on June 6 at 6 p.m. and will begin full-scale activities.
