Group ILLIT has reaffirmed its global popularity by taking home the Best New Artist award at the American Music Awards.

ILLIT won the "Best New Artist (K-Pop)" category at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2025 held in Los Angeles on Sunday (local time).

The iHeartRadio Music Awards are hosted by American online radio station iHeartRadio and recognize the most played artists and songs on the iHeartRadio platform throughout the year. This is the first time ILLIT has been recognized at the awards, demonstrating its strong presence in the global music market within a year of its debut.

ILLIT has been making waves on international charts since her debut in March last year. Her debut song "Magnetic" entered the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 (April 20, 2024) and the U.K. Official Singles Top 100 (April 5, 2024), setting records for the first and shortest debut for a K-pop song. Following this, their debut album "SUPER REAL ME" and mini album "I'LL LIKE YOU" both charted on Billboard's main album chart "Billboard 200," demonstrating their strong presence in the overseas music market.

Based on these achievements, ILLIT swept the trophies at major music awards ceremonies in Korea and abroad. She has won a total of 13 awards in Korea, the United States, and Japan, including the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, and has won seven rookie of the year awards. She has also been nominated for the MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs) and the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), garnering the attention of global fans.

In other news, ILLIT recently released "Almond Chocolate," the theme song for the movie "I Don't Like You Just for Your Face. The song has been doing well on the local charts in Japan and has had a positive impact on the movie's box office. She is also gaining attention in Korea by performing a special Korean version of the song, thanks to the support of her fans.
