NewJeans(NJZ) fans submit petition in exclusive contract dispute...

Fans of the group NJZ have filed a petition with the court to show their support for its members.

On Dec. 12, the NJZ fandom alliance Team Burnies announced that it has submitted a petition signed by more than 30,000 NJZ fans to the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 50. The petition is in response to a preliminary injunction filed by former agency ADOR against the members of NewJeans, and the fans support the termination of their exclusive contracts.

"The fans submitted the petition out of concern that HYBE and Chairman Bang Si Hyuk have intentionally discriminated against the members and that the current hostile environment will not change," Timberlake said. They emphasized the young age of the NewJeans members and said it was unfair for them to continue their activities in such a coercive environment."

In their petition, the fans asked the court to deny the preliminary injunction so that the members could continue their musical endeavors in a trusted environment.

NewJeans has been working on their own since November of last year, when they terminated their agency contract, citing defaulted obligations. Last month, the group changed its name to NJZ and announced a concert appearance in Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, ADOR has filed a preliminary injunction against five members of NJZ to "preserve their agency status and prohibit them from signing advertising contracts."
