Singer Wheesung dies suddenly...canceling upcoming concerts
Wheesung was scheduled to perform a ballad concert with KCM at the Daegu Exco Auditorium on the 15th. He announced the concert by writing, "See you on the 15th" on his social networking service, but the concert was canceled due to the sudden news.
"Wheesung has left our side," his agency Tazo Entertainment said in an official statement the day before, adding, "The deceased was found in cardiac arrest at his home in Seoul and was pronounced dead." "The bereaved family and the entire agency are deeply saddened by the sudden news," the statement continued, adding, "We will announce the details of the funeral process later."
Wheesung was found collapsed at 6:29 p.m. on Tuesday at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, according to police. His mother reportedly visited the home and found her son unconscious and called the police. So far, there are no signs of criminal activity, such as signs of outside intrusion, and police are investigating whether there was a suicide note and the specific circumstances of his death. They have also requested an autopsy from the National Institute of Forensic Science to determine the exact cause of death.
Wheesung debuted in 2002 with his first full-length album, "Like A Movie," and released a number of hits, including "Can't You," "Insomnia," and "Even thought of marriage."
