Blackpink's JENNIE hosts listening party for her first solo studio album, 'Ruby'

BLACKPINK's JENNIE has shared a special moment with fans ahead of the release of her first solo studio album, Ruby.

JENNIE held a listening party to celebrate the release of 'Ruby' at Hyundai Card Understage in Seoul on the 27th. All 15 songs from the album were revealed for the first time at the event, which was organized into two sessions. Zico and actor Yeo Jin Goo appeared as surprise guests at each session, sharing their thoughts on the album, the process of working on the album, and their impressions of the release.

JENNIE explained why she chose the title 'Ruby' for her first solo full-length album, saying, "I wanted to be an artist who could open and close the curtains of the show by herself. I was inspired by the red curtains of the theater, and the name 'Ruby' naturally came to mind." "My goal for this album was to say, 'Let's do it on our own. As long as my fans enjoy my music, I have nothing to fear."

The event also included time to answer questions from fans. "I wanted to share the songs from the album as soon as possible, and I wanted to share my emotions with my fans on the road. I'll be performing the entirety of 'Ruby' at the show," JENNIE said of her decision to host 'The Ruby Experience.

Finally, JENNIE concluded, "Although there is still a week left until the album release, I am happy and grateful to be able to give fans a sneak peek. I will continue to deliver good music in the future."

JENNIE will release "Ruby" on March 7, and to celebrate, she will be performing "The Ruby Experience" shows in the U.S. and Seoul. The shows will take place on March 6-7 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, March 10 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and March 15 at Inspire Arena in Seoul.
