Trot maestro Song Dae-kwan dies at 78

Trot singer Song Dae-gwan passed away on July 7. He was 78 years old.

 

Song Dae Kwan was rushed to a hospital emergency room in the early hours of the day after complaining of sudden pain, according to his family. The cause of death was reportedly a heart attack.

 

The deceased was reportedly in poor physical condition due to recent health issues. In particular, it is known that he had to postpone his appearance on KBS1's "K-Pop Stage," which was scheduled to air next week, due to poor health."

 

Song made his debut in 1967 with 'A Generous Man' and rose to stardom in 1975 with the release of 'Suny Day About to Come'. Since then, he has had numerous hits, including 'Because of the Lingering Heart', 'One Ticket', 'You Said Homeland is Southside', 'Four Beats', and 'Hit Song'.

 

Song Dae Kwan's last album was the full-length album 'Wallet Is My Brother,' released last November.

 

The deceased will be laid to rest at Seoul National University Hospital Funeral Home.
