The movie "Dark Nuns" continues to heat up at the box office, quickly surpassing the 1 million mark.

According to the Korean Film Council's Integrated Movie Ticketing System, "Dark Nuns" has reached 1 million cumulative admissions as of 3:46 p.m. on Jan. 29. It was the second-fastest film to reach the 1 million mark this year, after "Hitman 2," in its sixth day of release.

"Dark Nuns" started off strong with 160,000 moviegoers on its opening day, and went on to top the box office for three consecutive days. The film's cumulative first week attendance reached 606,156 and has continued to climb steadily.

The movie is not only doing well in Korea, but also overseas. In Indonesia, the movie topped the box office for five consecutive days, proving its popularity there. From January 24th to 28th, the cumulative attendance for the five-day period was approximately 569,690, the highest five-day opening for any Korean film in Indonesia.

In a photo released to celebrate the 1 million audience milestone, the director and actors are seen holding black balloons with 1 million written on them and smiling broadly. The black balloons are a nod to the movie's title.

"Dark Nuns" tells the story of a group of people who engage in a forbidden ritual to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit. With its suspenseful story and intense atmosphere, the movie has been well-received by audiences and is expected to continue its strong box office performance during the Lunar New Year and Lunar New Year holidays.
