The donation was made with winnings from Hye-ri's year-end party last December. At the event, which was attended by a variety of guests including actress Park Shin Hye, EPIK High, (G)I-DLE Miyeon, and John Park, EPIK High won the prize of 15 million won. Hye-ri added another 15 million won with her crew, for a total of 30 million won to the Korean Red Cross.
Hye-ri's donation is part of her support for the Jeju Air tragedy that occurred on December 29th of last year. The tragedy occurred when Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, left the runway while landing at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do, South Korea, resulting in the deaths of 179 people.
