ADOR seeks preliminary injunction to enjoin advertising contract against NewJeans members

Subsidiary ADOR has filed a preliminary injunction against members of the group NewJeans to prohibit them from signing an advertising contract.

"Last week, ADOR filed a preliminary injunction against the members of New Jeans at the Seoul Central District Court to 'preserve the status of the agency and prohibit them from signing an advertising contract,'" ADOR said in an official statement on Wednesday.

The preliminary injunction was filed to recognize ADOR's status as NewJeans's management company pending the outcome of the first trial of the 'Suit for Validation of Exclusive Contract' filed at the Seoul Central District Court on December 3 last year. The purpose of this is to prevent members from entering into advertising contracts or conducting advertising activities independently without the approval of ADOR.

ADOR also stated that the preliminary injunction is a sign of its willingness to cooperate with NewJeans. "If the members' independent behavior continues, it may lead to a decline in the brand value of NewJeans and the management crisis of the agency," the agency said. "Even if the validity of the exclusive contract is recognized in the ruling, the confusion and damage that has already occurred will be difficult to recover," the agency said, citing the inevitability of this action."

Earlier also clarified its intention to support NewJeans's activities. The agency stated, "We are unwavering in our support for their entertainment activities based on the position that the exclusive contract with NewJeans is valid," adding, "We have already prepared plans for their activities, including the release of a full album and fan meetings, and hope to fully communicate and cooperate with the members."

On the other hand, depending on the outcome of the preliminary injunction and the main lawsuit, NewJeans' future activities and ADOR's position will be greatly affected.
