BOYNEXTDOOR breaks its own record with new song
The digital single "IF I SAY, I LOVE YOU," which was released at 6 p.m. on June 6, became the band's highest-ranked track on Melon's daily chart on June 7, the day after its release, at No. 38. The song debuted at No. 45 on the daily chart on June 6 and has been climbing steadily ever since. The song has also reached new highs on various real-time charts, peaking at #4 on the Melon Top 100, #10 on Bucks and #22 on Genie at 0:00 on July 7th.
The song entered Spotify Korea's Daily Top Songs chart (dated January 6) at #27, and on January 8, the song peaked at #10 on Apple Music Korea's Top 100 of the Day chart. It was the highest-ranked K-pop boy band on the chart, which has generated a lot of buzz.
The band has continued to gain popularity overseas as well. On Japan's Line Music Top 100 chart, the band took the top spot at 7:00 a.m. on July 7 and stayed there until 7:00 a.m. On August 8, it regained the top spot, proving its popularity. On China's largest music platform, QQ Music's rapidly rising chart, the band was ranked third at 2 p.m. on July 7, making them the only K-pop band to reach the top of the chart.
"IF I SAY, I LOVE YOU" is a dance song that uniquely captures realistic post-breakup emotions. The self-help lyrics and upbeat band sound combine to create a relatable, "down-to-earth" breakup song.
