IVE postpones comeback promotion in wake of Jeju Air crash
The agency Starship Entertainment said through an official statement on Monday, "We have decided to postpone the promotion schedule for IVE's third EP, 'IVE Empathy,' which was scheduled to be released today and tomorrow. We will announce the rescheduled dates at a later date." "We would like to express our deepest condolences to the victims and bereaved families affected by this incident."
Ahead of the release of her third mini album "EMPATHY!" on February 3 next year, IVE had planned to release a trailer video on the same day and trailer photos on the 30th, but in light of the national grief, she has decided to postpone those dates.
IVE's comeback comes about nine months after the release of his second EP, "IVE Switch," in April last year. He plans to warm up the comeback atmosphere by releasing the title track "REBEL HEART" on the 13th of next month before the full-scale comeback.
Meanwhile, the Jeju Air accident occurred when Flight 7C2216, which was traveling from Bangkok, Thailand, to Muan Airport in Jeollanam-do, crashed during landing. The plane collided with the outer wall of the runway fence and broke in half, before catching fire, killing all 179 people on board except for two crew members.
The government has declared the crash a national tragedy and declared Dec. 29 through Jan. 4 as a period of national mourning. <저작권자 ⓒ 코인리더스 무단전재 및 재배포 금지>
