aespa takes the world by storm with hit parade in 2024... 2025 is here

Group aespa had a breakthrough year in 2024, showcasing their unique musical identity and challenging variations. With their first full-length album "Armageddon" and mini-album "Whiplash," the triple-hit musical trifecta exploded at home and abroad, leaving a lasting impression on their global fans.

aespa released its first full-length album, "Armageddon," in May, cementing its expanded worldview and unique musical color. After building interest with the preview track "Supernova," the title track "Armageddon" completes the story that spans multiple universes, beyond the real and digital worlds.

The album has been hailed as "establishing the genre of aespa," with its strong sound, visuals, and robust world-building. In particular, the album achieved unrivaled results such as the longest period of No. 1 in the 20-year history of Mellon Service and perfect all-kill on the music charts, creating the aespa syndrome. It also proved its global influence by becoming the first K-pop girl group to be selected as the background music for the "Imagine Show" in Dubai.

Five months after "Armageddon," aespa released the mini-album "Whiplash" and tried out an EDM-based techno sound. The album had a unique concept of "electronic beef flavor," and showed the new ESP's charm through understated performances and visuals.

"Whiplash" expanded her musical spectrum and proved to be her fifth million-selling album, reaching 100 million cumulative streams on Spotify.

aespa reached career highs at year-end awards shows, winning multiple awards for best song, music video, choreography, and artist. The group also achieved global successes, including being named to the K-pop song of the year lists of Billboard, NME, Grammy.com, and Daysd, and winning Group of the Year on Chinese music platform Wang Yi Yun Music.

aespa, meanwhile, has a full slate of activities lined up for next year. In January, the group will participate in "SMTOWN LIVE 2025" at Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome, and will tour North and South America and Europe through March.
