Winner Song Min-ho controversy over poor military service... Military Service Agency launches investigation
Song Min-ho did not show up for work at the Mapo Residents' Benefit Facility in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the day and reportedly cited sick leave as the reason. He was assigned to the Mapo Facility Management Corporation in March last year and has been serving at his current duty station since March this year.
Song Min-ho was judged to be a Class 4 supplementary soldier in the conscription physical examination and has reportedly been receiving treatment for panic disorder and bipolar disorder. He is scheduled to be demobilized after completing his alternative service on March 23, but has been at the center of controversy in the wake of recent allegations of poor service.
Earlier, The Dispatch reported allegations that Song failed to report for duty after a five-day trip to Hawaii in late October. As a result, the Armed Forces Administration has launched an investigation to confirm the facts."
In response to the allegations, Song Min Ho's management company, YG Entertainment, said in an official statement, "The reason for his sick leave is an extension of the treatment process that began before his military service, and all other leave was taken in accordance with the regulations."
But the controversy is unlikely to die down as he is just days away from being discharged from the military. With the outcome of the military's investigation, the controversy over Song's attitude toward his service is likely to continue for some time to come. <저작권자 ⓒ 코인리더스 무단전재 및 재배포 금지>
