TXT Named 'Title Track of the Year' by U.S. Consequence... Proof of Global Popularity
The U.S. music publication Consequence recently named "Deja Vu," the title track of TXT's mini 6th album, as "Title Track of the Year" in its 2024 K-Pop Yearbook. "The song captures the essence of TOMORROW X TOGETHER and connects naturally with the music they released at the beginning of their debut," the publication wrote."
"Deja Vu" is a song about a moment of reunion that, like a promise, always comes true, and it's both wistful and exhilarating. With its unique "redemption narrative," the song was a huge hit upon release and continues to be highly anticipated by fans around the world.
The members recalled performing the song on NBC's The Kelly Clarkson Show in April, saying, "We still can't believe it." "We're honored that it was chosen as the title track of the year for Consequence. It's a song that reminds me of the responsibility I feel every time I step on stage."
"Deja Vu" has become an iconic song, most notably as the opening track on TOMORROW X TOGETHER WORLD TOUR ACT: PROMISE, the band's third world tour. The group thanked their fans for the experience of taking the stage at Madison Square Garden in New York City, saying, "Performing at such an iconic venue with such a long history is an unforgettable moment." They also thanked their fans for their support.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER has been recognized by global platform TikTok as one of the Top Global Artists of 2024. In the U.S., the group also made a splash on Billboard's annual charts with a number of albums ranking high in the Top Album Sales and Top Current Album Sales categories, including No. 7 on the Top Album Sales Artist list.
Mini-6th album minisode 3: TOMORROW and mini-7th album A CHAPTER OF STARS: SANCTUARY both sold over 1 million copies in their first week of release, marking their fifth consecutive first-week million-seller. Both albums also performed strongly on Billboard's main chart, the Billboard 200. minisode 3: TOMORROW debuted at No. 3 and remained on the chart for seven weeks, while Chapter of Stars: SANCTUARY debuted at No. 2, where it remains to this day.
In addition, the mini sixth album sold 190,000 copies in its first week of release in the U.S., ranking second on entertainment data company Luminate's Top CD Album Sales in the U.S. for the first half of 2024.
