BTS's Jungkook Wins Two Billboard Music Awards

Jungkook of BTS has proven himself as a solo artist with two awards at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

For his solo album "GOLDEN" and its title track "Standing Next to You," Jungkook won "Top K-Pop Album" and "Top Global K-Pop Song. Last year, Jungkook also won the Top Global K-Pop Song category for his solo single "Seven (feat. Latto)."

This is the second year in a row that he has won the trophy in this category.

His album "GOLDEN," released in November last year, entered the U.S. Billboard 200 at No. 2 and stayed on the chart for 24 consecutive weeks, the longest run for a Korean solo artist. The title track, "Standing Next to You," debuted at No. 5 on Billboard's Hot 100, marking Jungkook's sixth Hot 100 entry.

Jungkook's solo songs "Seven," "3D" and "Standing Next to You" all reached the top 10 on the Hot 100 chart, making him the only Korean solo artist to have three top 10 hits.

BTS, meanwhile, made its first appearance at the Billboard Music Awards in 2017, winning "Top Social Artist," a category it will win every year until 2021. They have also won a total of 12 trophies in various other categories, including Top Duo/Group, Top Song Selling Artist, and Top Selling Song.

In addition to his group activities, Jungkook continues to shine as a solo artist, proving his unrivaled position in the global music market.
