"As a result of discussions with the production team, we have decided to cancel the artists' photo wall event," KBS said in an official statement on Wednesday.
Initially, KBS was planning to hold a red carpet and photo wall event for artists to meet with fans at the 'KBS Global Festival' on the 20th, but in light of the current social climate, the network decided to cancel the event and focus on preparing for the live broadcast. The production team asked viewers for their understanding, saying, "We made the decision in order to present a better broadcast."
The 2024 KBS Global Festival will be hosted by Zico, IVE Jang Won Young, and actor Kim Young Dae, and will feature a variety of performances from popular artists including aespa, NCT 127, NCT Dream, ENHYPHEN, (G)I-DLE, IVE, BOYNEXTDOOR, Lee Chan Won, Jang Min Ho, Young Tak, and Lee Young Ji.
