SEVENTEEN Shines K-Pop Spotlight on Disney's Holiday Special
Seventeen performed their Christmas classic "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" on Disney's holiday special "The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular," which aired on Dec. 1 (local time) on ABC in the United States.
Introduced as "K-pop royalty," SEVENTEEN interacted with the audience and delivered a laid-back, upbeat performance. With their impeccable live skills and the members' bright, natural charm, their performance added to the holiday spirit."
The performance was especially eye-catching as it took place in front of the Millennium Falcon, the iconic backdrop of Disney's popular franchise Star Wars. Mingyu and Vernon added to the fun by performing a hilarious skit with the Star Wars character Chewbacca before the show.
Disney's year-end special program, "The Wonderful World of Disney," is now in its ninth year, and SEVENTEEN has proven its popularity in North America by performing alongside world-class artists such as Elton John, John Legend, and Pentatonix.
Meantime, SEVENTEEN will be competing for the award for Top K-Pop Touring Artist at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards on December 12th. The group won "Best Group" at this year's MTV Video Music Awards and took home five awards, including two grand prizes, at the 2024 MAMA AWARDS, making their presence felt in the global music market.
The group's ongoing world tour, "SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR," is also continuing its success. After a successful first performance in Nagoya on March 29 and 30, the group will be making stops in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka to meet with local fans.
