Seunghan is preparing for a solo career after leaving Rise... Aims to debut in late 2025

Seunghan, who left the group RIIZE following a personal life controversy, is preparing to debut as a solo artist in the second half of 2025.

"Seunghan is practicing with systematic training, production, and management with the goal of debuting as a solo artist," SM Entertainment said in an official statement on Friday. "Seunghan's new news will be delivered through his official social media accounts, which were opened today," the agency added, "We ask for your warm interest and support so that he can unfold his dreams and talents as a solo artist."

Seunghan debuted last year as a member of the seven-member boy group RIIZE, but was embroiled in controversy when photos of him making out with his girlfriend while he was still a trainee and smoking on the street as a minor circulated online.

After the controversy, Seunghan was suspended in November of the same year, leaving RIIZE as a six-member group. SM later announced Seunghan's return, stating that "RIIZE means more when all seven members are together," but there was a lot of backlash against his return among fans. Some fans reacted by releasing statements in support of the six-member group and sending sympathy wreaths to SM's headquarters. Eventually, Seunghan voluntarily left the group.

Now that Seunghan has left the group, he will begin a new challenge as a solo artist. SM Entertainment confirmed his departure, saying, "Seunghan will be showing a new side of himself as a solo artist."

Seunghan's departure is now official.
