Actor Song Jae-rim found dead in his home at age 39
According to the Asian Economic Daily, police reportedly found a suicide note on two A4 sheets of paper at Song's home.
Song Jae-rim was born in 1985 and is a former model and actor. He made his entertainment debut in 2009 with the film "Actresses," and since then, he has appeared in a number of other works, including the dramas "The Moon Embracing the Sun," "Two Weeks," and the films "The Suspect" and "The Snob." He also appeared on the MBC entertainment program "We Got Married," which garnered him a lot of love.
Recently, he had been interacting with fans through his appearances in TV original "Queen Woo," JTBC's "My Military Valentine," and the play "Wife," and he was especially close to the audience on stage through the musical "The Rose of Versailles," which ended last month. His sudden death has come as a great shock to his fans and colleagues.
An official from Song Jae Rim's former agency told TV Daily, "We don't know his whereabouts since his exclusive contract expired earlier this year." In addition, Song Jae Rim recently changed the name of her social media account to "Start a long journey," leaving her fans even more heartbroken.
Fellow celebrities also expressed their deep sadness at the news of Song Jae Rim's death. Actor Park Hosan posted a photo of himself with Song Jae Rim on his social media, saying, "I can't believe it," and expressed his condolences. Hong Seok-chun also paid tribute to the late actor, saying, "I'm saddened that I can no longer see your smile."
Song's body has been placed in Room 2 of the St. Mary's Hospital Funeral Home in Yeouido, Seoul, and the wake will take place on Thursday at noon.
