LE SSERAFIM becomes first K-pop girl group to win MTV Europe Music Awards - with solo performance

LE SSERAFIM became the first K-pop girl group to perform a solo performance and take home a trophy at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs), Europe's biggest music awards show.

LE SSERAFIM(Sakura, Kim Chaewon, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, and Hong Eunchae) attended the 2024 MTV EMAs at Co-op Live in Manchester, England, on Tuesday, where they were nominated for three categories, including Best Push, Best New, and Best K-Pop, and were invited to perform at the ceremony. LE SSERAFIMwas the only K-pop artist invited to perform at the ceremony, making it even more noteworthy.

LE SSERAFIM mesmerized the audience by opening the show with a voguing dance for "Chasing Lightning," a song from his fourth mini album. Then, during the title track "CRAZY," they overwhelmed the stage with their sophisticated performance and regal attitude. The five members drew cheers from the audience with their dynamic choreography utilizing the 360-degree stage, and local fans sang along to the Korean lyrics, proving the group's popularity in Europe.

LE SSERAFIM also took home the trophy for Best Push, becoming the first K-pop girl group to win the category. They were up against competition from a variety of global artists, including Chapelone, Teddy Swims, and RayBay. In their acceptance speech, the members expressed their gratitude to their fans, saying, "It's amazing to be able to perform in the UK for the first time, and we're thrilled to have won this award. We would like to thank our fans for their continued support."
