BTS Jimin Wins 'Best K-Pop' at MTV Europe Music Awards...Second Year in a Row BTS Member Honored
The MTV EMAs, which took place on Tuesday local time, announced Jimin as this year's winner in the Best K-Pop category. This is the second year in a row that a BTS member has taken home the trophy, following Jungkook's win in this category last year, underscoring the group's growing popularity. The Best K-Pop category was created in 2021, when BTS won the award as a team.
Jimin has been enjoying steady popularity with his solo second album "MUSE" and title track "Who," which he released in July of this year, and it is believed that these achievements contributed to his MTV EMA win. Four months after its release, "MUSE" and "Who" have continued to be popular on Billboard's Billboard 200 and Hot 100 charts for 15 consecutive weeks. They've also spent 16 consecutive weeks on the UK Official Charts, and have been ranked in the Top 5 on Spotify's latest Global Weekly Top Songs chart, proving to be a fan favorite around the world.
Jimin's solo career is also showing promising results. In particular, "Who" entered the UK Official Singles Chart at No. 4, making it Jimin's highest-ranked solo song to date, and in its first week of release, the song debuted at No. 1 on multiple sub-charts, making him a standout as a solo artist.
BTS members are making a strong impact in the global music market through their active solo careers. Jimin is scheduled to hold exhibitions in Los Angeles on November 29 and Tokyo on January 10, encompassing his solo albums *FACE* and MUSE, respectively.
Member Jin will release his first solo album, "Happy," on Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. KST. The album will feature songs of various genres that showcase Jin's matured musical abilities, and will also feature his musical participation, including "Longing," which he wrote himself.
In addition, RM: Right People, Wrong Place, a documentary film chronicling the making of RM's solo sophomore album, Right Place, Wrong Person, which was released in May, will be released in more than 90 countries worldwide on December 5. V is also set to release "White Christmas (with V of BTS)," a duet with legendary pop artist Bing Crosby, on December 6, making it a special gift for fans this holiday season.
The members of BTS continue to entertain fans around the world with their performances." <저작권자 ⓒ 코인리더스 무단전재 및 재배포 금지>
