Jessi ends contract with agency after alleged involvement in fan assault

Singer Jessi has ended her contract with her agency, DOD.

On the 18th, DOD released an official statement saying, "We would like to apologize again for the recent unfortunate news. We and Jessi have had many conversations about her future endeavors and, at her request and after careful consideration, we have decided to terminate her agency contract effective today. We would like to thank Jessi for her time with us, however short it was, and wish her the best in her future endeavors."

Jessi recently came under fire for an incident in which her group assaulted a fan. When an underage fan approached her for a photo in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on March 29, a member of her group assaulted her.

She said, "During a personal meeting with an acquaintance, the victim, a fan, asked for a photo, but I politely declined twice because it was late at night. At that moment, a person nearby, whom I had never seen before, suddenly assaulted me. Regardless of the circumstances, I am deeply saddened that my fan was victimized in such an unjust way and feel a moral responsibility to take action."

Jessi later appeared at a police investigation on Saturday and said he wants her attacker to be punished.
