Baek Ye-lin 'Mommy's Friend's Son' OST plagiarism allegations... Ha Sung-woon "I was never involved in the song work";
Baek Yerin shared a video of Ha Sung Woon's OST "What are we" from tvN's Saturday drama "Mom's Friend's Son" on the early morning of the 4th, saying, "You should be ashamed of plagiarism. I feel bad. If you want a song like my song, please contact me first."
'What are we' is the second OST of 'Mother and Son' with Ha Sung Woon as the vocalist, which was released on the first of last month. The similarity between the guitar riff in the intro and the melody in the highlights of the song has led to speculation of "plagiarism" since the song was first released, but Baek Yerin's public sniping has brought it back into the spotlight.
We have since reached out to the OST production company and CJ ENM for a response, but both sides said, "We are checking. We will communicate our position as soon as it is confirmed." They remained silent.
At this point, Ha Sung Woon, who participated as a vocalist, was victimized.
Ha Sung Woon's agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, said in an official statement, "Regarding the plagiarism allegations made by singer Baek Yerin on social media today about the OST 'What are we' of the drama 'Mom's Friend's Son' sung by Ha Sung Woon, Ha Sung Woon would like to convey that he has nothing to do with this plagiarism controversy."
The statement continued, "Ha Sung Woon and BIG Planet Made Entertainment were only involved as singers at the request of the drama's OST production company and were not involved in the writing, composing, or arranging of 'What are we,'" but added, "Nevertheless, we regret that the OST sung by Ha Sung Woon was involved in the plagiarism controversy and caused concern to our fans. We hope that Baek Yerin and the OST production company can resolve the issue amicably."
The company apologized for the incident. <저작권자 ⓒ 코인리더스 무단전재 및 재배포 금지>
