[Road to Kingdom] The New Six-Unite in first exhibition game
The New Six and Unite won against Tempest and 8TURN, respectively.
On the second episode of Mnet's "Road to Kingdom: ACE of ACE," which aired on April 26, the first round of the "VS" mission was held with 300 on-site evaluators. Five representative K-Pop boy groups, THE BOYZ, Stray Kids, NCT, ENHYPEN, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER, went head-to-head with songs from their respective genres.
On the day, the seven boy bands strategically organized themselves for victory. While 8TURN, the number one ranked team in the Trial Team Battle, had first pick of the bracket, last-place Cravity did not. 8TURN and Unite chose ENHYPEN, while The New Six and Tempest chose Stray Kids, and OneEarth chose a triple bracket, which could put them at a disadvantage due to the addition of one more competitor.
The first matchup of the first round saw debutants The New Six and Tempest go head-to-head with pride on the line, with The New Six choosing "Phobia" by Stray Kids. Starting with Chun Junhyuk waking up in a fog, Eunhwi and Woo Kyungjun performed a novel creative performance with a pair rap and a butterfly wing. The New six's performance was praised by their fellow band members.
Tempest then made a provocative entrance, saying, "I'll win without any changes." The song he chose was 'MANIAC'. LEW was chosen as the ace to emphasize the bass, and Tempest went head-to-head with colorful makeup and a live performance to boost the energy. The winner of the showdown was The New Six.
ENHYPEN faced off against 8TURN and Unite. It was an interesting matchup, with 8TURN choosing "Future Perfect" to represent their overwhelming ambition, and Unite choosing "Bite Me" to add a deadly sexiness to their intense style. Unite hand-picked 8TURN as their opponent, and 8TURN was confident.
For "Future Perfect," which required intense rapping, all-arounder Yoon Kyu was the ace, and he prepared a correo that broke up the beat of an existing song to showcase 8TURN's strengths. Dressed in a school uniform, 8TURN's sword dance was a delightful way to fulfill the concept of a rebel against oppression. Other teams commented on 8TURN's performance, which was entirely choreographed, saying that it was "boring because there was nothing organized" and "definitely had a young vibe."
Unite used an occult concept to set itself apart from the other teams. Eunsang, who performed a possessed performance based on the theme of good and evil, stole the show with her barefoot solo. In a silhouette performance that represented the fierce battle between good and evil, Unite completed the narrative with black wings and a blackened figure, leaving the Legend stage with a victory.
Meanwhile, in episode 3, The Crew One (ATBO-JUST B), ONEUS, and CRAVITY will perform a 'triple bracket' with songs by The Boys, NCT, and Tomorrow X Together. <저작권자 ⓒ 코인리더스 무단전재 및 재배포 금지>
