I-DLE members Minnie and Yuqi recently shared insights about their contract renewal experience.

On May 13, they appeared as guests on the YouTube channel "TEO" in a video titled "The long-awaited day has finally come." In the episode of the variety show "SalonDrip2," the two idols discussed their careers and personal stories.

Debuting in May 2018, I-DLE has now entered their 8th year. Yuqi said, "It didn’t really feel like eight years had passed until we renewed our contracts last year. That’s when it hit me." She added, "There were many questions and issues surrounding the renewal, but now it feels like we’ve moved forward."

As foreign members, Minnie and Yuqi revealed that they have group chats based on their nationalities. Yuqi shared, "There are tax accountants who specialize in foreign artists. During our contract discussions, we received a lot of advice from senior foreign idols in Korea. SEVENTEEN’s The8 and Jun were especially helpful."

Minnie, originally from Thailand, said her father was the first vice president of a bank in Thailand. "I go to the bank often because of investment funds," she explained. She also mentioned challenges with credit card limits as a foreigner, saying, "Even after increasing the limit, sometimes my card still gets declined." Yuqi joked, "Isn’t that just because you shop too much?" to which Minnie strongly denied.

When host Jang Do-yeon asked about exceeding credit card limits, Minnie admitted, "It’s really embarrassing." She added, "Even then, I still go through with the purchase. I use my dad’s card, but I pay him back." She confessed, "As a trainee, I used his card a lot. I’ve been a shopping addict since then."
